By registering for instruction offered by the Gabriela Mistral Latin American Society, the additional terms and conditions below apply.
Parent of Guardian Commitment:
I understand the actual cost per student to the school is approximately $450 per year The annual school tuition fees are only $230 per child. Therefore, I understand that my effort as a volunteer is not only important but vital to maintain the low registration fees and also to cover School expenses.
I also commit to abiding to the Society and School by-laws and its policies including any amendments that may be enacted from time to time.
More specifically:
1. I am expected to attend the Annual General Meeting during the School year (usually in April).
2. Work two shifts for the School, per semester to: prepare teaching materials (photocopying, library search, etc.), prepare coffee and host a lunch, and supervise children during recess and other duties assigned by the School. These shifts start at 10:30 AM and end at 2:30 PM. I will leave a $50 deposit cheque for my two supervision shifts.
3. I understand that the School will return my $50 deposit cheque after the completion of my two volunteer shifts.
4. Buy six tickets (for my family or for reselling to the community) for the Annual Latin Elements show at $15 per ticket ($90 total).
5. An administration fee of $25 will be charged for each NSF cheque.
6. If it is a casino year, I will work one casino shift. My $250 casino deposit cheque will be returned to me upon completion of my shift.
7. If I fail to work my casino shift, my $250 casino deposit cheque will be cashed by the school.
Fee and Guarantee Refunds:
1. Any requests for a fee refund, less a $25 administration fee, must be received prior to the third day of classes. After this time no refund of any kind will be given.
2. Non-attendance is not accepted as a notice of withdrawal.
3. A request for a refund must be written letter form or by email and must be accompanied with the student copy of the course receipt.
4. In the event that a course is cancelled, you will receive a full refund.
